Our regular normal club night, but as well as sitting around chatting, and drinking tea or coffee, we had Hama beads.

Things we do in the club
Boccia – with our new Boccia set
We played Boccia in the John Wesley Room.
Using our new Boccia set – we had been borrowing Boccia sets before now to play.
The John Wesley Room is shorter than the Hall, so we set up tables as a backstop.
Knocking the white target ball away from its initial position is a perfectly valid – and sometimes successful – tactic.
and here we are on video !
Love Me Tender Musical at the New Theatre
We went to see Love Me Tender – packed with Elvis hits, with a nod to William Shakespeare. Another good night out.
Meal out at The Mitre
Treasure Hunt
We went on a Treasure Hunt around Oxford City centre.
Setting off on the hunt
Looking for clues
Our route takes us back towards Wesley Memorial church
A bit of excitement – the fire brigade at work in Broad Street
Some clues need working out
Merton were having a ball, to add a bit of Oxford atmosphere
An enjoyable evening and a chance to explore and learn some local history.
Zumbathon
Oxford Phab held a Zumbathon on Saturday June 20th 2015
Our poster for the event is here zumba fundraising event.pub – Please print it and display it, or forward it to anyone you know who may be interested.
Zumba is a popular activity on club nights, but for this fundraising event we want others to come, have fun, get fitter, and contribute to our club funds !
There will be Stalls and Refreshments from 10am to 1pm, and Zumba from 11am until 12:30pm
The cost is £5 per person, the Zumba Instructor will be George Martini, and the event took place at Wesley Memorial Methodist Church Hall, New Inn Hall Street, Oxford, OX1 2DH
In the end we raised over £400 for club funds – thank you to everyone who contributed or took part, particularly to George and his friends.
Meal at Oxy
Sharing a meal together is always popular at Oxford Phab and Oxy Oriental is a favourite because they have a wide selection, mostly Oriental – as you would expect from the name, but varied enough to be able to avoid very salty or spicy food – and a reasonable selection of vegetarian dishes.
The problem with blogging about going for a buffet meal with Phab is that by the time you have fetched food for those who can’t fetch their own, and eaten yourself, everyone has finished and there is no sign of the food we have enjoyed.
However you can tell we enjoyed it.
Only a little desert left
Climbing Wall
We went on the climbing wall – it looks very high !
especially from up close
but, undaunted, we get kitted out with helmets and harnesses.
John going up !
Trisha preparing to climb
She is fearless !
On the way to the top.
Sarah is enjoying the experience
Sarah on her way up too.
Kelly getting ready to go up.
The staff who supervised the climbing were very good, and not only had the slings and other equipment to enable an inclusive climb, but knew how to use it.
Archery at Avon Tyrrell
Beetle Drive
With much rattling of dice our Beetle Drive began
Some Beetles were very artistic – but everyone had a good time
with a break for a light(ish) supper – of bread and cheese and pate and salad
and we raised money for the Wesley Memorial Open Doors project, which aims to make the rooms where we meet more accessible
