Phab were invited to the Wesley Memorial Open Doors Murder Mystery evening. This included a meal, being prepared here.
The hall was set up.
Tables were labelled with the names of famous detectives.
We are Oxford after all – we also had Lewis, as well as Rebus and so on from other places.

Things we do in the club
Meal at The Narrows
We went out to the pub – The Narrows in Abingdon.
The food and drinks were very good value. (so good that I did not take any pictures until we had all finished eating !)
They gave us our own section of the pub, conveniently close to the lift you can see behind us.
Hot Diggity Dog!
It’s hot dog night at Oxford Phab.
cooked in the Wesley Memorial kitchen
and served through the hatch.
We had hot dogs with or without onions, as well as crisps snd other snacks.
and a Birthday Cake !
Quiz night
We had a quiz using Simon’s laptop and the projector we bought for the club when he won the Paul Hope Award.

We split into teams.
and BOTH teams ended up as (virtual) millionaires!
Noodle Night !
We had already given our menu choices for meals from Noodle Nation and they had been told what we wanted and had it all ready for us to collect. They had even labelled all the containers with whose order it was, which made distributing them very simple.
Mary had baked biscuits for desert for anyone who still had a space !
Normal Club with board games
We played a variety of board games.
including Boggle.
Some passing visitors to Oxford also came in and sung to us!
Jesus Chris Superstar
We went to Jesus Christ Superstar at the New Theatre. Fast paced with plenty of excellent musical numbers.
Last Boccia in the Hall before Open Doors work starts on the room
We had our last opportunity to play Boccia in the Hall at Wesley Memorial before work starts on the room as part of the Open Doors regeneration.
Hopefully this will sort out the floor, as my ball kept drifting away from where I bowled it – though this did not seem to affect the other bowlers !

Normal Club with Hama Beads
Our regular normal club night, but as well as sitting around chatting, and drinking tea or coffee, we had Hama beads.
Boccia – with our new Boccia set
We played Boccia in the John Wesley Room.
Using our new Boccia set – we had been borrowing Boccia sets before now to play.
The John Wesley Room is shorter than the Hall, so we set up tables as a backstop.
Knocking the white target ball away from its initial position is a perfectly valid – and sometimes successful – tactic.
